Department of Logistics and Forwarding - Scientific activities
Scientific activities
Our department takes great part in the international level research and educational activity of the University. Our lecturers participate actively in the domestic and international scientific community. It is supported by many high standard publications. With the help of experience gained from research results and business assignments we prepare our students to be able to cope with logistic challenges.
The research competence of the department is diverse. The most significant areas are sub-processes of business logistics, such as performance measurement, storage, stock management, supply-chain management, distribution and packaging.
The most important sources of the research and educational activities are the laboratories that are operated by our department. Both the forwarding simulation and the logistic cabinets are equipped with state-of-the-art IT background. There we are able to create and examine models that are necessary for our research. The most important equipment of the package-examining laboratory deals with the creation and simulation of different effects occurring on areas in connection with logistics. With the help of this we are able to study the behaviour of certain product- package- and cargo systems.
